Due to the COVID situation in Alberta, the number of people who could volunteer at once was smaller. It made us spread the process to 1 day of moving large items, 1 day of bed prep, and 3 days of moving items from Taylor to the container. After many days of preparation (which started at local churches across Canada), the container is now travelling to a port in Douala, Cameroon.

Thank you for your continued participation in the ministry with us. We are praising God for bringing all the prayers, works of our hands, and financial contributions, from all over Canada this far. May he bless your service to others and use all aspects of this mission for his glory!

New Shipping Year, New Partnership!

The news has been sent out to contact people from local White Cross groups and donors from the past 5 years, as well as to subscribers of the NAB weekly newsletter, but in case you have not heard yet… Taylor Seminary have partnered with Alberta Baptist Association (ABA) to support the ministry of White Cross together!

Below is an excerpt from the letter sent to the donors.

Starting January 1, 2021, management of and financial responsibility for White Cross Canada will shift to the Alberta Baptist Association.  We want to make it very clear that this partnership is not a change in the operations or funding of White Cross Canada.  Taylor will continue to host the operations of White Cross on the Taylor campus as we have done for many years, and will make sure that material donations in support of the work of White Cross are directed there.

For the foreseeable future, Ai Hayashizaki will continue to serve White Cross as she is doing now.  This partnership will have no impact on Keir Hammer or his long-term disability leave. The ABA will have the freedom to reassign those responsibilities at their discretion whenever another person is identified and trained.  Again, we do not anticipate any change in the short term.

partnership10 30 2020With that change on January 1, 2021, your financial contribution will go to White Cross under Alberta Baptist Association, and your donation receipts will be issued by them. If you happen to write cheques to Taylor, we will make sure to direct it to White Cross at ABA.

You can continue to contact us at the same email addresses and arrange deliveries and shipments in the same way. The announcement for general supporters is available here: http://www.taylor-edu.ca/about-taylor/resources/recent-news-articles/1433-white-cross-partnership-announcement

The US side of White Cross also had a change in its location, which also means new partnership. Here is the article on the NAB website: https://nabconference.org/changes-for-white-cross/
