Audrey Butler receiving Madeline Pape Memorial Scholarship from Fred PapeMadeline Pape Memorial Scholarship Winner!

The annual Scholarship Recital took place on Friday, June 10th. Instructors at the Conservatory of Music invited their best students to perform, and each one received a $75 cash award.

This year's event also included a competition for the very first Madeline Pape Memorial Scholarship. At the end of the evening, a jury of four conservatory instructors was joined by guest jury member, Sarah Ho (faculty member at Grant MacEwan), who chose flute student Audrey Butler as the best performance of the night. In this photo Audrey is receiving the $500 Madeline Pape Memorial Scholarship, presented by Mr. Fred Pape, following the concert.

MORE ABOUT THE MADELINE PAPE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Mr. Fred Pape of Edmonton set up an endowment for Taylor students in 2014 in honour of his wife, Madeline Buckles Pape. Part of the proceeds are directed towards students of the Conservatory of Music.

Mrs. Pape attended this institution in 1941-42 before becoming a teacher. She loved music, and Mr. Pape says he hopes the scholarship will encourage deserving students to apply their God-given talents for the glory of God.Fred Pape, Audrey Butler and Instructor
