Hundreds of people joined the Class of 2013 for the 33rd Graduation Service at Taylor Seminary.
Eighteen students graduated, including one with a double degree:
Diploma of Christian Studies (DCS) -- 2 (including a distance education student from Grande Prairie)
Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies-TESOL (MAIS-TESOL) -- 4
Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies (MAIS) -- 2
Master of Theological Studies (MTS) -- 4
Master of Divinity (MDiv) -- 6
The Valedictorian this year, as chosen from a list of qualifying students by her fellow grads, was Loretta Stadt ('13, MDiv). For the first time, the Valedictory Address was included as part of the ceremony. The keynote speaker at the service was Dr. Kent Anderson of Northwest Baptist Seminary (ACTS), who spoke on the theme chosen by graduates: Be Strong and Courageous, from Joshua 1:6-9.
One again, a number of graduates are those who already serve in ministry and who studied at Taylor Seminary as part of a commitment to life-long learning and professional development. Among them were Edi Balian of Edmonton Capital City Church of Christ, and church planter Evan Yang of Life Renewal Baptist Church in Terwillegar.
Another first this year was a reception following the ceremony, hosted by the Taylor Alumni Association.
Congratulations to the Class of 2013!
