THiVE! Retreat held at Camp Caroline
The E P Wahl Centre was pleased to host the 4th annual THRiVE! retreat from May 30-June 2, a special time of renewal and equipping for pastors and spouses. Held at Camp Caroline, this was a time to deeply consider the key issues around ministry resiliency. Under the leadership of Sam Nikkel, a variety of speakers addressed key topics and were part of many one-on-one interactions.
It is shocking how many times we see those in ministry become worn down or burnt out. The relentless demands of ministry and the expectations of many people can create a lot of stress, and (sadly) ministry can become a lonely and negative experience. So, it was wonderful to witness again the power of teaching and coaching, and the encouragement of cohort groups; this is what the Healthy Pastors Initiative of the E P Wahl Centre is all about. At THRiVE!, there was opportunity for rest and renewal, but also to learn best practices. And once again the feedback was so encouraging.
This event, like all of Taylor’s educational offerings, was made possible through the generous support of churches and individuals who enthusiastically support our mission of developing Christ-minded leaders who make a difference in the world – not just for a few years, or until the stresses become too much, but for a lifetime of fruitful ministry.
