The latest edition of The Bridge has been published by Taylor College and Seminary. The theme of the new issue is Special Needs and the Church.

The Bridge, Spring 2016On the cover is a remarkable woman, an Edmontonian who is a lifelong member of Zion Community Baptist Church, a professor, playwright and filmmaker. Dr. Heidi Janz was born with cerebral palsy, and has become a determined advocate for those on the margins -- especially for those who cannot advocate for themselves.

Another article, written by Jodi Graff of St. Albert, details a simple approach churches can use to make sure that they are accessible and inclusive in their programs, training and even in their physical structure. Finally, Karen Sudom of Lethbridge writes about Autism Spectrum Disorder -- offering compelling insights from her experience as a professional who teaches on this topic, as a parent of children on the spectrum, and as a person on the spectrum herself.

The Bridge also includes news and notes from alumni, a look at the Class of 2016, and includes a profile of featured alumnus Rick Foster ('83, '10). We were also pleased to have permission to share artwork from Julianna Christensen ('06, '10) on the back cover.

Taylor makes The Bridge available free of charge to anyone interested. You can request copies by phone (780-431-5200) or by email, or you can read it online here.
