The Wahl Centre at Taylor is pleased to be playing a role in initiating a local conversation about justice. On November 15-16, those interested in God's mission of justice will gather at First Baptist Church in downtown Edmonton for #JusticeYEG.
This event grew out of an advisory group of local pastors and church leaders who met in at Taylor in 2011 to consider some of the key needs of the church, and how the Wahl Centre could help address those needs. At the same time, local church Urban Bridge was conceiving a similar event and this event became a cooperative venture. (The Edmonton Do Likewise Society has also become an event partner.)
Rick Tobias of Yonge Street Mission in Toronto will be the featured plenary speaker. In the course of three keynote sessions, Rick will speak on three topics that emerge from 30 years of ministry experience in the downtown of Canada's largest city:
Session 1: Rooting Justice in Kingdom Values.
Session 2: From Moses to James: Benchmarks for Justice.
Session 3: Jesus: Compassion, the Multitudes and Justice.
The registration cost for this event is just $44.99, and before November 1st you can save with the early bird rate of just $29.99. This will be a weekend of renewal, discussion, vision -- a time to gather, and to support and encourage one another.
