Faith Fellowship Baptist Church is a multicultural, multigenerational community that exists to make disciples of Christ from all nations. We are in South Vancouver, BC. Our vision is to engage with Jesus, bringing His truth, grace, and love to those around us. 

Primary Objectives

The Lead Pastor aims to oversee all ministries, working with the pastors and staff in charge of Community Impact and Community Growth, and working closely with the Executive Pastor who oversees Community Support and the administrative systems of the church.

Ministry Responsibilities

Worship and Sunday Services

The Lead Pastor will provide oversight for the preaching and worship teams for church services. The Lead Pastor will focus on understanding and communicating the Word of God through preaching, teaching and day to day interactions.

Oversight of Ministry Staff

The Lead Pastor will recruit, train, delegate and supervise leadership development. The Lead Pastor will work with the staff to fulfill the vision and mission of the church.


The Lead Pastor will be engaged in counselling members in need as well as individuals in the community seeking spiritual advice and prayer.


The Lead Pastor will encourage and engage the congregation in the Great Commission of reaching unchurched people here in Canada and around the world. The Lead Pastor will oversee and support the missions committee.

Characteristics, Qualifications and Experience


  • Christ-like character proven in relationships; gentle chemistry shown on a ministry team; enduring commitment shown in consistent ministry fulfillment and follow-through; clear competence demonstrated in both secular and Christian workplaces.
  • A heart for God demonstrated by an authentic, personal, reproducible walk with God evidenced in a balanced life, a hunger for the Scriptures, and prayer.
  • A commitment to our statement of faith, to our mission, vision and values, and to our DNA of multiculturalism and agape love – the successful candidate must be willing to be a member in good standing of FFBC.
  • Experience as a preacher / teacher in a multicultural church setting – with positive affirmation on his teaching / preaching gifts.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment with monthly reports going to the FFBC board of governors.
  • Eager to lead the lost to Jesus


  • Masters or doctoral degree in theology or Christian studies
  • Willing to be a member in good standing of FFBC
  • Willing to work within Faith’s complexity, its partnerships, community organizational modeling and governance structure
  • Self-motivated worker with sufficiently developed administrative skills in the areas of planning, budget management, accountability, and communication


  • Cross cultural experience, for example:
    – Missions
    – Refugees
    – First Nations
    – Other
  • Collaborative ministry experience, for example:
    – Church partnership
    – Church plant
    – Satellite ministry
    – Other
  • Appropriate previous pastoral experience
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience as a preacher / teacher in a multicultural church setting


The Lead Pastor is a full-time position. FFBC has a strong compensation package including extended health and dental coverage, matching RRSP contribution, sabbatical leave. Support for clergy housing will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Start Date

Starting in Fall 2022, subject to the successful candidate’s availability.
