Ambleside Baptist Church is a multi-cultural and multi-generational church of about 30 people that is affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada.
Ambleside Baptist Church seeks a lead pastor (part-time with the possibility of full time position), whose heart is that of a servant-shepherd devoted to prayer and the ministry of the Word (Acts 6:4), committed to church renewal, disciple-making, missional leadership, and pastoral care. His calling, spiritual gifts, passion, vision, experience, and education, will complement this commitment. As the lead pastor who reports to the church board, he will spiritually nurture the existing congregation and at the same time develop plans to establish a sustainable ministry in the future building in the Ambleside community where the church property is located. The ministry description will include preaching and teaching the Word of God, spiritual oversight, leadership and equipping the saints to do ministry work, providing biblical counsel and performing church ordinances.
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biblical studies\Christian ministry\theology from an accredited Christian institution.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, and to motivate and mobilize ministry teams.
- An evangelical, with godly character and reputation (I Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9), who endorses the statement of faith, pastoral code of ethics, and mission of the Baptist General Conference of Canada and Alberta, and that of Ambleside Baptist Church.
The candidate will be credentialed with the Baptist General Conference of Canada in collaboration with the Baptist General Conference in Alberta and Ambleside Baptist Church, within three months of the start date.
