Who’s New on Campus?

Another fall is here, another class of students has moved on campus many brand new to Taylor and others working on finishing their degrees. So what is new this year? We thought we’d give you a quick look at some of the campus changes and new faces this year.

New Personnel
These individuals have recently joined the staff/faculty at Taylor University College and Seminary.
Keir Hammer (New Testament Professor)
David Williams (Academic Vice President – University College)
Michael Smith (Psychology Professor)
Virginia S. Hooper (Director of Student Development)
Evelyn Sabo – General Office
Kara Reich – Registrar’s Assistant
Heather Hiebert - Library Assistant
Patricia Field – Student Development Assistant

Here is a brief biography of the faculty joining the school:

Dr. David Williams
Dr. Williams joined our faculty in July, 2004 as Academic Vice President for the university college. He worked as Department Head of both the Theological and the Humanities departments at Colorado Christian University and brings 16 years of academic and administrative leadership experience.

Virginia S. Hooper
Virginia also joined the Taylor staff in July of 2004 as the Director of Student Development. She has a strong background academically and in the area of student life. She is completing her doctoral dissertation on the topic of the integration of faith and learning, which will be very applicable to her work with the school.

Keir E. Hammer
Keir joined the Taylor University College faculty in July, 2004 as Professor of New Testament. His teaching experiences include U of T, Wilfrid Laurier University, McMaster Divinity College and Emmanuel Bible College. He is also completing his doctoral studies.

Dr. Michael Smith
Dr. Smith has his Ph’D in Psychology from York University, Toronto and prior to coming to Taylor this fall was doing research in the department of neuro-science at the University of Minnesota.

New Facility
Admissions has a new office moving to the former staff lounge in the classroom wing to make room for more faculty offices. New offices were constructed in the former admissions area for Neil Kaarsemaker Director of Development, Leanne Willson Psychology Professor and this space includes a new staff lounge. New paint was added all over campus especially to exterior areas giving everything a fresh look.
