university college students and twelve seminary students
gathered along with their family and friends to graduate
from Taylor on May 1, 2004. The weather was beautiful

of the day.
The commencement ceremony, held at West Meadows Baptist
Church, was a time to honor the graduates and offer

The graduates were inducted into the Alumni Association
by Coordinator of Alumni Affairs, Christine Okken, who
challenged the graduates as they are entering into a
new stage of life. She used one of James Hudson Taylor’s
quotes that states, “You must go forward on your
knees.” She encouraged the new alumni to go forward
into the world in submission to God and in fervent prayer
for His wisdom.
This year’s graduation was a time to recognize
accomplishment and also a time of inspiration. Each
of us can take the challenge to “go forward on
our knees” in prayer for our lives of service
and for the ministry of Taylor.
