Stepping out in Faith is such a fitting edition to be sending my goodbye’s to each of you. I have resigned from my position of Coordinator of Alumni Affairs at Taylor, and will be concluding my duties on January 31, 2005.
It has been my privilege to serve you, the alumni these past 5 years. Back in January of 2000 I began working with you before you even knew it as I entered the alumni names into our new data-base system. It was then that I developed a deep desire to see alumni reconnect to a school that has played such a significant role in my life, knowing it played a similar role in many of yours.
Such has changed in the past 5 years as we have tried to re-establish your connection to Taylor through our communication efforts and relationship building events. In these 5 years we have been able to enhance our communication and relationships through the OnLine Bridge, alumni updates on the web, alumni events, reunions, alumni awards and the potential for so much ahead. We have shared the mission of the alumni association with our graduates each year, commissioning them and inviting them to participate in what it means to be a Christ-minded leader continuing to make a difference in the world as an alumnus.
I have known great joy in my connections with so many of you, whether it was meeting informally at a church, sitting down together at an alumni event, talking over a brief e-mail, or through a newsletter. I have enjoyed building relationships with many of you under the mandate of connecting you to Taylor University College and Seminary and re-connecting you to many of your fellow alumni. It has been my hope and goal to be a vessel in spurring each of us on to continue our faith journey with joy and renewed purpose and to spur one another on to love and good deeds.
As my husband, my children and I step out in faith to God I am leaving my position with Taylor. I have enjoyed the privilege you have given me in serving you and the contacts we have been able to share. My prayers of blessing go out to each of you as you continue to become more and more like Christ.
