THRiVE! Retreat held at Camp Caroline

THRiVE! Retreat 2017The E P Wahl Centre was pleased to host the 4th annual THRiVE! retreat from May 30-June 2, a special time of renewal and equipping for pastors and spouses. Held at Camp Caroline, this was a time to deeply consider the key issues around ministry resiliency. Under the leadership of Sam Nikkel, a variety of speakers addressed key topics and were part of many one-on-one interactions.

The staff and faculty of Taylor Seminary gathered on May 29th to honor and thank Su Jin Chong for her service to Taylor. After serving for five years as Registrar, Su Jin has stepped down; she and her family are moving to Ontario to accept a new pastoral role.

Seventeen Grads in the Class of '17

The Class of 2017 at Taylor SeminaryThe accomplishments of seventeen students were celebrated at the 37th Taylor Seminary Commencement Ceremony on April 30th.

The Class of '17 included twelve men and five women. Eight students graduated with their Master of Divinity, six with their Master of Theological Studies, one with a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies--TESOL, and one each with a diploma or graduate certificate.

Our Commencement Speaker was Sheryl Grunwald, a two-time graduate of Taylor (1983 and 1995) and one of our Distinguished Alumni (2007). Sheryl works as an advocate for children around the world, especially in training those who are trainers of children's ministry workers. She notes that one-third of the world is under the age of 15, and that is the age when most people make faith commitments.
