Andrew Sims (B.Mus, M. Mus) – Piano, Musikgarten, Accompanying
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Baylor University (Texas) and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Alberta. He has received many awards and scholarships throughout his studies, teaching both private students and classes at the post-secondary level. For one year Andrew taught the Musikgarten (pre-school music classes) program in Waco, Texas. He has accompanied for a ballet school in Edmonton, published articles on Alexander Technique, and studied ways to teach piano creatively. His teachers include Jacques Despres, Marnie Giesbrecht and Jane Abbott-Kirk. He is a founding member of Trio Aria and has performed with the Taylor String Quartet.
Andrew teaches all levels of piano and is in demand as an accompanist.
Satomi Tozawa (BA in Art and Culture,
M.Mus., MA in Ethnomusicology) – Piano
Satomi is originally from Hokkaido, Japan. She came to Canada as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, completing her Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Literature at Brandon University. During her degree she focussed on contemporary and electroacoustic music as well as performing various pieces from the Baroque and twentieth century with other instrumentalists. She premiered Michael Vincent’s Flesh Color at her graduating recital. Ms. Tozawa also received a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from the University of Alberta in 2011. Her thesis topic was “Japanese Anti-Art: Japanese Society and Influence from the West”. Satomi is sought after as an accompanist and has been working with Vocal Alchemy since 2009. As a soloist she has toured parts of Canada and China with Masaki’s Rising Stars Tour and she has also performed in Japan.
Satomi teaches all levels of piano.

Private lessons available in all RCM theoretical classes (theory, harmony, history, and counterpoint) through Marg Daly. If there is enough interest group classes will be provided.
